DEM Look Creator Help
Dem Look is designed to provide a quick way of creating a dem look on Basecamp or Mapsource.
It is available free as a working BETA . Depending on your support and interest, time will be set aside for further development.

Allowed:
0101010101
0100100101
Not Allowed:
010101
001000
TYPE NUMBERS
Provide your first polygonTYPE number, ie 10f00 .The rest are calculated by adding 1 to the subfile:
10f01 , 10f02 , 10f03 ... 10f1f ,10A00 , etc
MAP RESOLUTION
Polygons can appear at different resolutions (levels)
Highest = resolution 24; Lowest = 16
It is not advisable to select more than 2 resolutions as it will slow down your GPS
MAX Draworder
The program creates a new draworder for every 4 polygons. There is a limit to the number of draworders you can have - in theory you can have as many as you like but Basecam and most devices limit it to 16.
MAX DISTANCE
The program checks for distances between nodes on a polygon. To avoid or reduce 'spiking' increase the distance. The smaller the distance the fewer the number of polygons
TYP FILE
To create a TYP file click Create TYP . This creates a txt file which can be converted to a TYP file using any TYP Editor. Currently no TYP Editor is capable of importing DEM polygons to an existing TYP file.
When you have created your TYP txt file and have preset the location of TYPWiz,TYPWiz will automatically load your txt file.
You can set the location of TYPWiz in Options --> Locate TYPWiz ..
However, it is good practice to create a separate gmapsupp with a low priority setting containing DEM data and TYP file.
