Walk 1 Newton Abbot and surroundings (5.3 miles)

River Lemon

This popular but quite strenuous walk includes several steep ascents and descents. It runs through Newton Abbot's town centre to 2 idyllically situated old churches ( Wolborough & High Week). It follows part of the river Lemon valley and joins the Templer Way at the end.

Views of Newton Abbot and the Teign Valley are breathtaking.

Walk 2 to Abbotskerswell (3.2 miles)


This walk starts at Decoy Country Park,skirts the big lake and climbs at times steeply following paths and tracks towards the delightful village of Abbotskerswell .

It passes the Court Farm Inn and the Exporium & Coffee House ,both in the village. On the way back you follow the lane towards Abbotskerswell Priory,now a home for the elderly.

There are several stiles.

Although at times strenuous the views are quite stunning.
