Appledore, famous for building ships and Hockings Dairy Cream Ices, is a charming village dating back to the Saxons.

An easy and pleasant short (dog friendly) walk with great views of the Torridge and Tamar estuary.

The Vikings commanded by Hubba the Dane and his 23 longships and 1, 200 men raided the area in 878.
