Once a thriving salmon fishing village now a popular tourist attraction with its winding streets and long quay.
The village was surrounded by orchards to provide cider for the fishermen.

Walk 1 Stoke Gabriel Village Trail (1 mile)
Difficulty:
A short and relaxing village trail that showcases all the key attractions of Stoke Gabriel.

The ancient yew tree in the churchyard of St Mary and St Gabrie Church over 800 years old!
Local legend says circling it backwards grants a wish!
B Church Walk, a cobbled street with medieval cottages.
C Mill Pool, a serene tidal creek of the River Dart.
Perfect spot for crabbing or just enjoying the reflections and boats.
Sit at the quayside bench and watch kayakers go by.
D Stoke Gabriel quay and pontoon.
A great place for photos—especially at high tide!
Spot wildlife like herons, egrets, and maybe even a seal.
E You'll see apple orchards and open views across the Dart.
Walk 2 Stoke Gabriel (3.8 miles)
Difficulty:
This pleasant walk uses lanes, public footpaths and tracks.
A Turn right onto almost hidden footpath on Hoyle Lane after woods on right; you can also continue ahead to Aish.
B At Aish cross over into Aish Rd, marked as a cul de sac but it continues as a track and makes a sharp turn to the right .
CAt T junction turn left on to Coombe House lane then soon take the next track on right.
Follow this old track (Broadley Lane) with camp side for half a mile.
DAt the T-junction, turn right onto Paignton Road and walk along the grass verge, as traffic may be present.
EAfter approximately 320 metres, turn left onto a footpath and follow it back into the residential area.
