This is a delightful but somewhat demanding trail as it includes a few climbs - most of Shaldon is built on a steep hill.

The route takes you through Homeyards Botanical Gardens (free) with extensive views of the Teign estuary then descends into Ringmore where ships used to be built and joins the Templer Way.
It continues along the dramatic coast line to the Ness pub,Shaldon Zoo and Smugglers Tunnel.
