A Turn right out of the village hall car park and walk into the charming village of Oakford. The walk passes St Peter's church dating back to the thirteenth century.and the Red Lion,well worth a visit. B Ignore footpath on left through a farm but take the second one on left & enjoy the spectacular views of the Exe valley. Cross a field diagonally towards a gate in between a hedge. Go through gate then follow hedge on right. Continue down to another gate. Turn right into a track then when you join a lane cross diagonally right onto a footpath. C This stretch bit is poorly signed but continue across two stiles until you join a gate on the edge of a small residential area. Enjoy splendid views of Mid Devon as you descend somewhat steeply to two bridges. Follow path until you reach a lane. Turn right and continue following this lane past a trout fish farm. D Continue past a letter box on left and turn right into a track at the edge of the hamlet. E The public foot path runs past the left side of cottage and continues crossing a junction of tracks steadily climbing. F At the edge of the wood turn right and head up hill in the direction of the yellow arrow towards three lonely oaks. Follow the yellow arrows. G Walk crosses the gardens of a house onto a dirt track which eventually leads to a lane. Turn right and follow lane across a junction H Take the next lane left to gently descend into Oakford.
