Bishopsteignton
 
He built a 14th century sanctuary chapel to provide a refuge for felons who had accepted life banishment, as they travelled from Exeter to sail from Teignmouth.
The remains of this chapel are still visible near the village church.

This charming town with many Georgian buildings inspired by John Nash ,enjoys three pubs,one named after Bishop John de Grandisson.

This delightful walk starts with a steep stretch out of Bishopsteignton, past the vineyard and the ruins of a Bishops Palace .
The climb is rewarded with splendid views of the Teign estuary.It takes you through a golf course - paths are well defined - and into a magnificent wood along Three Tree Lane.
