Knightshayes Court built for the grandson of John Heathcoat and designed by William Burges, now belongs to the National Trust.

Traces of a Roman fort were found nearby.

You do not need to be a member to do both delightful walks.

Difficulty

This very pleasant but somewhat strenuous country walk combines the Knightshayes estate with Bolham & Firebeacon.

It follows quiet lanes and public & permissive footpaths.

Note:

When walking near Cricket Ground, path becomes unclear but keep right and walk towards edge of wood ; you will join a clearly marked path leading towards a small gate - see picture.
