This pleasant walk follows the Clyst and skirts the Clyst,Bishop's Court estate.
Entry to Sowton Village can be very muddy even during the summer.
There is one pub at Clyst St Mary:the Half Moon Inn.
There are no pubs or cafes in Sowton Village.
A main Roman Road from Exeter to Axminster used to go through this village.The start of the walk runs through the 1549 Prayer Book Rebellion battlefield.
