Walk 1 Donyatt Halt & Herne Hill (3.2 miles)
Difficulty:
This very pleasant and varied walk takes you to the top of Herne Hill offering spectacular views.
From the town centre it takes you through the old town, past the church of St Mary and the impressive Warehouse Theatre.
It joins a path which follows part of the Taunton to Chard rail line .
At Donyatt Halt a girl is still waiting for a train!
From here you can divert to the village of Dontyatt and the George Inn.
From the bridge across the railway line it climbs steadily to the top of Herne Hill. This part can be muddy after heavy rain.
The descent in places is quite steep.

Walk 2 Ilminster to Dillington House (2.9 miles)
Difficulty:
A delightful and fairly easy walk to Dillington House, an impressive mansion (not open to the public).
The walk explores the unique character of Ilminster and reaches Dillington Park via Old Road , a track possibly dating back to Roman times.
There is one steady climb.
