Tottiford Reservoir with its peaceful surroundings makes an ideal site for a picnic.

What to explore?

• Time Team in 2010 discovered a stone row and a stone circle (see map 1) - the reservoir had already been drained by South West Water.

You pass the site where Time Team found Bronzed Age monuments, encircled in red.

Access to Tottiford Car Park is via narrow steep lanes but check out walk 2.

Walk 2 Christow & Tottiford (7.4 miles)

Difficulty:

Tottiford is fairly inaccessible and this option may be preferable.

Although long it is a most delightful walk and not too strenuous.

A public footpath from Christow is narrow and uneven in places.
