Walk 1
Dolton & Tarka Trail Circular (4.7 miles)

Difficulty:

A very pleasant circular country walk from Dolton Church following quiet lanes and public footpaths.

From the church turn into Church Street.

At the T junction turn left and continue along West Lane , past The Oak Inn.

At cross roads continue traight ahead.

After 400m where the lane bends to the left take pah on right marked Tarka Trail.

At T junction, either turn right to the Torridge the retrace steps or turn left and follow the lane, past Langham; continue along Breaka Lane to Chapple Cross. Follow signs for Dowland.

Continue south then after 3 mins turn left , faintly signed Winkleigh.

At Staples Cross, take foot path on left, heading back to Dolton on the Tark Trail.

Iddesleigh & Upton (6.8 miles)

Difficulty:

A great pub walk to the famous Duke of York at Iddesleigh.

The route follows quiet lanes & public footpaths some of which go through farms.

Start:

With back to the village shop head down Church Street ,turn right and continue passing church on right.

At end of village showing Dolton village sign turn diagonally left & enter the field gate.

Descend steeply to the stream and continue following the Tark Trail.
