Langaton Lane is now open to pedestrians and cyclists only!

Blocks ensure this stretch is no longer used by motorists as a rat run!

The walk starts at the station - during WW2 POW CAMP 276, NISSEN CREEK, was located on the site of the current soccer field nearby.

This pleasant walk takes you to Sowton village via the spectacular 'blue' bridge, opened in 2011,a pre-Roman track to the river Clyst and Exeter's Science Park.

Along this path are the ruins of Red Hayes house , initially used by the Polish and Czechoslovakian Fighter Wing as their HQ between 1941-1943 when it was taken over by 50th Troop Carrier Wing in 1944.

As you cross the blue bridge notice the plant wall on the new Met Office 'SuperComputer' Buildings.

A great walk to the edge of Bishop's Court, a Grade 1 listed building on the edge of Sowton Village.

It follows public footpaths and quiet lanes.

: After heavy rain , part of the walk can become flooded.
