Spectacular Views
Difficulty:
This very pleasant walk takes you to the top of Herne Hill offering spectacular views.
From the town centre it takes you through the old town,past the church of St Mary and the impressive Warehouse Theatre. It joins a path which follows part of the Taunton to Chard rail line .
At Donyatt Halt a girl is still waiting for a train!
From here you can divert to the village of Dontyatt and the George Inn.
From the bridge across the railway line it climbs steadily to the top of Herne Hill. This part can be muddy after heavy rain.
The descent in places is quite steep
