Decoy Park, South of Newton Abbot, is an ideal place for the family to relax and explore.

 

It offers a wet play area and picnic facilities.

Decoy was once a clay quarry but now supports a wealth of wildlife, It was named after a lake where ducks were led into a decoy and caught for food.

Walk 1 Blue Trail (0.7 miles)

Decoy Park

Difficulty:

This is a very short , easy and wheelchair friendly walk around the main lake. It starts from the car park and follows well defined paths.

A very popular walk - part of the trail is not suitable for wheelchairs .

Court Farm Inn, Abbotskerswell
  • This great pub walk starts at Decoy Country Park, skirts the big lake and climbs at times steeply following paths and tracks towards the delightful village of Abbotskerswell .
  • It passes the Court Farm Inn and the Exporium & Coffee House , both in the village. On the way back you follow the lane towards Abbotskerswell Priory, now a home for the elderly.
  • There are several stiles.
  • Although at times strenuous the views are quite stunning.
