Polygons

Garmin Nuvis do not use bitmap polygons . TYPWiz 6 uses the most dominant colour when converting to kmtf.

Transparent colours are replaced with 'white'

Lines

For most highways and lines only solid colours are used - tracks and railway lines are the exception.

TYPWiz 6 uses the most dominant colour when converting to kmtf.

Transparent colours are replaced with 'white'

My kmtf file is incomplete

Lines or Polygons which cannot be matched in a TYP file are not included in your kmtf file.

Instead, they are rendered using Garmin's default style.
