Parking in this village,where once Sir Ralph de Doddiscomb lived, is virtually impossible unless you are planning to visit the well known Nobody Inn, which once served as a church house.
The village is referred to by the locals as 'Doddy".

A combe is a fertile valley with steep sides.

 This delightful but strenuous walk includes some steep climbs and descents but is rewarded with spectacular views and a cycle free Haldon Forest.
The walk passes Higher Ashton with its charming 15th century church.
  Haldon Belvedere , also known as St Lawrence Tower, is not open to the public.

Walk 4 Christow to Doddiscombsleigh (8.1 miles) Time:3h 20 mins


This is a much longer walk starting at Christow thus avoiding any parking problems. Allow 1h 30 mins to walk to Doddiscombsleigh.
Both Walks 3 & 4 make an ideal pub walk with Doddiscombsleigh as a half way stop.
