Stover Country Park, once part of a large estate owned by James Templer, is an ideal centre for both long and short family walks.

The park with its large lake and a rich variety of habitats, all carefully marked with instructive notice boards., has been declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Follow a Poetry Trail celebrating the poems of Ted Hughes who lived for most of his life in North Tawton, Devon and was a favourite amongst many primary school children.

All walks start facing the lake with the Information centre & Toilets on your right.

How do I get there?

Off the A382, almost opposite entrance to Trago Mills. It is well signed!
