This is a most varied but energetic pub walk following many green lanes and a beautiful stretch of the South West Coastal Path with some extensive and rewarding views of the Jurassic Coast and beyond.

If parking is not a problem then start from Stokeinteignhead else we suggest you start from Labrador Bay Car Park, on the A379 to Torquay - its only £1 and free on Sundays!

There is one steep climb along the coast.

The Walk

A Crossing the A396 you enter a track which leads to a bridlepath to Lower Gabwell .

B Turn right and follow a lane and a footpath to Stokeinteignhead which has many listed buildings and a pub , the Church House Inn!

C Continue past the pub and post office then take a lane on right (Forches Hill) .

The lanes near this village are all given unusual names - Butterfly Lane, Millen Lane, Dagra lane. Most of the lanes date back to before the Middle Ages.

D After 0.2 miles you notice a track on your left. Ignore this track and continue for another 0.2 miles and take the next track on your left (Dagra Lane)

Continue along this track and where it splits turn right. into Pegwell lane.

E Continue until Short Lane and via Peppery lane enter Ringmore once known for its shipbuilding and The Avery a ship that sailed around the world in the mid 19th century.

From here you follow the Coast Path along the Teign towards the sea.

F Follow signs for the Zoo and continue past the zoo following the coastal path back to the car park.
