  Difficulty:

An easy town trail to enjoy Lyme Regis' key attractions.

Plenty of pubs , tea places & shops in Lyme.

Jane Austen and her parents stayed at Lyme in 1804 although she couldn't swim she enjoyed the freedom of walking on the cobb and referred to the experience in Persuasion.

The museum has a special section devoted to her visit. Part of Persuasion is set around Lyme.

 

Walk 2
Uplyme (5.2 miles)

Difficulty:

A most invigorating scenic 5 mile pub hike to Uplyme taking in some steep hills & passing the Talbot Arms in Uplyme.

It follows part of the Liberty Trail & East Devon Way.

There are several ways of doing this walk , depending on which Car Park you use. - both are en route and less than £2 for whole day parking.

Do Not Park in Lyme Regis - it's expensive and access is poor.

Uplyme & Cannington Viaduct (5.2 miles)

A fairly easy 5 mile hike combining Uplyme with Cannington Viaduct, now abandoned.

The route follows quiet lanes, public foot paths and stretches of the South West Coast Path and East Devon Way
