Difficulty:

A short and pleasant rural walk from Awliscombe following mainly public footpaths & quiet lanes .

At the end of the walk it uses a pavement along a busy A373 to Honiton.

The route includes a steep ascent and descent so allow at least 1 hour and 30 mins .

The route through this remarkably open landscape uses more lanes then paths.

The views from St Cyres hill are spectacular.

A stretch at the top through the woods is almost a private lane and in spring shows an abundance of bluebells and other wild flowers. Part of the wood is used by Landrover Experience where 'one can test one's 4x4 (s)'.

This unspoilt area is steeped in history dating back to pre-Roman times.
