Walk 1 Torquay Harbour Trail (1.4 miles)

A delightful trail to explore the English Riviera’s coast with all it's glamour.

Torquay Harbour has almost 1, 000 berths for boats and offers access to some of the best facilities in the Southwest.

It is also a commercial port that hosts various maritime events throughout the year.

The harbour is surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars, and is close to other attractions such as Beacon Cove and Torquay Marina .

Walk 2 Views of Torbay (2.3 miles)

Difficulty:

A great circular walk exploring Torquay's , magnificent coast line - allow 1.5 hours.

starting PointStart : Torquay Harbour, Torwood St

The Walk

A The walk starts at Torquay Harbour.
Walk up Tor street for 100m then turn right into Parkhill Road.Turn 2nd left into Meadford Road.

B After Park Court Hotel on right turn left into Hesketh Road. Continue past some steps on either side. The road becomes unpaved and eventually zigzags to Meadford Beach - ignore any tracks on left.

C Turn right and follow the South West Coast Footpath (symbol is an acorn).
There is a cafe at Meadord Beach , but is not directly on your route.

D Soon the path branches left from Daddyhole Road. Part of this stretch can be quite narrow.

E Enjoy extensive views of the bay.
Follow the path back to Torquay harbour.

A varied Town walk combining the harbour with Torre Abbey dating back to 1196.

The abbey was built near a Saxon hamlet .
The monks established the first quay.
