The South Ham's village of Aveton Gifford is a popular centre for walkers enjoying the wildlife and landscape around the Avon Estuary.

The name means a farm on the Avon owned by  Walter Giffard in the 13th century.

Difficulty:

A very pleasant river walk following public footpaths and quiet lanes.

From the car park, facing the estuary, turn right and follow part of the Avon Estuary Walk - see below.
